The Deep Run Soccer Recreation Program provides the opportunity for boys and girls to develop basic soccer skills and teamwork in a stress-free and fun environment. Teams are typically organized by gender and grade (5th and 6th grade boys, 5th and 6th grade girls, 7th and 8th grade boys, 7th and 8th girls, etc.). Teams practice once or twice per week, generally held at the Deep Run Complex or a satellite facility.
The Deep Run Recreation Program participates in the Southeastern PA Recreation League. The SEPA Rec League is a joint league with other clubs in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, so some travel for half the games is required. Depending on the home team’s facility and field availability, games may be played on Saturdays, Sundays or Friday evenings (under the lights). Some travel is up to 60 minutes away, but most games are within 30-40 minutes of Deep Run.
Deep Run Soccer is a long-time advocate of small-sided games, which promote player development in the younger age groups; these formats help pave for a smooth transition and a developmentally appropriate progression for skill development and tactical concepts.
Recently US Soccer launched its Player Development Initiatives for small-sided games, and the Deep Run Soccer Recreation Program is currently compatible with most of these recommendations, as some modifications were identified and implemented that best suit the needs of Deep Soccer and its players.
